Morning Glory Smoothie

Ingredients:
1/4 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight then drained
1 1/2 cups filtered water
2 Medjool dates, pitted
1 frozen banana, broken into chunks
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch sea salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Step 1, Make the almond milk. Blend almonds with water on high for 90 seconds. Strain through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer into a bowl, squeezing out every last drop. Discard the pulp or save it for baking.

Step 2, Sweeten with dates. Pour the strained almond milk back into the blender. Add dates and blend until completely smooth. This is your sweetener. No maple syrup needed. No refined sugar in sight.

Step 3, Add the fruit and blend. Add banana, mango, blueberries, cinnamon, sea salt, and vanilla extract. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy. Too thick, add a splash of water. Too thin, add another chunk of frozen banana.

Step 4, Pour and drink now. Pour into a 16 oz glass and drink immediately. Fresh almond milk is best the moment it is made.

Notes: Soak the almonds the night before and this takes under five minutes in the morning. Swap mango for pineapple if you want more brightness. Add a tablespoon of hemp seeds for more substance without changing the flavor. This is a complete breakfast. Treat it like one.
