Stimulation Isn't Energy

Stimulation Isn't Energy

It's our business to debunk food myths. You don't get a straight answer from your gym trainer, your doctor, your yoga teacher, your lawyer, or grandma when she cooks. The fact is, food data is garbled because so many people say the silliest shit about what a diet should look like. The keto diet, for example, was originally developed in the 1920s as a medical protocol for treating drug resistant epilepsy. It wasn't designed as a long term lifestyle, and the long term safety data is still thin.

People also confuse keto with a high protein diet. It isn't. Keto is actually high fat, moderate protein, very low carb. Many of these popular eating patterns stimulate us and we mistake the stimulation for energy, when really it's just our chemistry being pushed to move faster. Chronic stimulation isn't a good thing, especially when you consider it can drive oxidative stress and accelerate cellular aging over time.
