You Are the Prototype

You Are the Prototype

It is a choice, my friends. Straight up. Either you live in the anxiety brain and let it shrink you down to nothing, or you do the work and get into the observer mind. Nobody hands you that. You practice it every day and you learn how to stand up in an emotional storm.

Sadness comes for everybody. That is the design. Millions of years of brain evolution to get you right here, right now, with a brand new brain. Be the first to try one on.

Life gets unpredictable in a good way when you live closer to the ground. Live near animals. See a sunset. Get some open sky over your head. Without that it is hard to ever feel right. But go the other way, sit out there alone with nobody to talk to, and the boredom and the loneliness will eat up everything the nature gave you. You need both. Nature and people. That is how the thing was built.

Of all the hard jobs in the universe, building a living creature that can keep its heart open and still love the magic of being alive might be the hardest one there is. Way harder than it looks.

So forget aliens for a minute and look at what is standing in front of you. What if we are the only ones like this. A creature that learns, makes up its own mind, invents choices and then goes and acts on one. What if we are the best design so far out of millions and millions of creatures. We stand up tall, we reach, we grab, we work the world with our hands like nothing else out here.

That does not make us better than anybody. We are not gods. We are not the strongest, we do not live the longest, we do not have every gift. It is all pretty even. But look at where we are right now. Eight and a half billion of us covering the whole globe, tearing through resources, fouling the water, wiping out species left and right, and you have to say it. The human may be a botched experiment.

Do the math. There are only eight and a half billion of us and we kill a lot more than we make. If there were trillions of us and we took out, say, a billion animals for no reason, the numbers would still be on our side. We would be on the side of life. But eight and a half billion of us doing this much damage, this much destruction, this much threat to everything else breathing, that means the design needs a new prototype.

The prototype may already be coming up. A human with more brain, or a fourth structure in there we do not have yet. Maybe it is already sitting in our heads and the scientists just do not know what it does. The prototype holds onto compassion and love, partly because of how the brain and the nervous system are built, partly because of family and community around them. Minimal trauma growing up, or if trauma came, there were people there who walked them through it, and they came out the other side developed instead of broken.

We do that too, right now, in modern times. But we also have options they never had. You can quit developing altogether and go live inside an addiction, and there are too many of those to even name.

That is the fork. You develop or you check out, and you get to pick again every single day. The prototype is not coming to save you. You are the prototype, or you are not, and the answer is whatever you do tonight.
