the five indulgences

The Five Indulgences are:

  1. Overconsumption of rich foods
  2. Excessive intake of animal protein
  3. Consuming too many processed sugary snacks and desserts
  4. Overeating
  5. Consuming intoxicants, such as alcohol

We often eat poorly or unconsciously because we struggle to cope with our emotional realities. Anxiety is a normal part of life, but throughout history, some people have coped with anxiety in destructive ways, amplifying the world's anxiety. Patterns form from our actions, and it's important to remember that nobody should judge others for the things they struggle with. Instead, we should offer support and compassion without being preachy or imposing dogma. The world does not need rebellion and resistance; it needs empathy and understanding.
