The goodsugar Diet is a thorough program and there's a lot of information and concepts to grasp. I know it will take time for you to absorb the information and put it into action. I encourage you to do the same thing I did when I was in Alcoholics Anonymous beginning at age 15. Instinctively I felt the best thing to do was to keep the Big Book close at hand and read it cover to cover four times. I memorized certain chapters. Slowly but surely, the information began to materialize in my head.
At times my attention would drift, and to some degree I felt that the information in the book didn’t have the level of direct instruction that I desired. This is the main reason that I’ve put so much content into this book. I want to cover as much as I can and give you all the information and tools that you will need.
I have seen and interacted with a huge number of people who struggled terribly with food addictions, anxiety problems, and addictions to adrenaline, alcohol, and drugs succeed at becoming normalized by following this type of program.
I know that being able to take the direction that this book offers will require tremendous courage and patience. You have both. You will succeed in this effort. Keep telling yourself that. This is exactly the same power that a fighter gets before he or she goes into the ring. They tell themselves backstage while warming up, “I’m going to win, I’m going to win, I'm going to win,” and they visualize themselves winning. They see themselves raising their hand up in victory. They see themselves in exactly the successful position they want to be in. That has an enormous, enormous impact on their wills.
Follow in the footsteps of those men and women. Don’t let your negative voice take over and tell you that this is foolish, or you’ll never make it, or that there’s no point in trying. That thinking does not serve you anymore. Let go of it!
From now on write only positive words down on the pages of your journal. When you’re talking about the things that happened to you in the past, you may need to write about certain unpleasant, negative things. But when you’re talking about the things that are happening to you right now and your thoughts and actions going forward, talk about them in the most positive way that you can.
You can be a great coach to yourself. Take a lot of pride and gratitude in the fact that you are working on or completed The goodsugar Diet™ book. You’re now going to do the work, and step-by-step you are going to get better!
I sincerely hope to see you as we both move along on our mutual paths to happiness and peace of mind.
