Feeding Truth or Feeding Addiction: The War Between Real Food and Fake Fuel

Feeding Truth or Feeding Addiction: The War Between Real Food and Fake Fuel

Here is the reality about food and I am not here to sugarcoat it. There are only two kinds of things you can put into your body through food and drink. The first kind contains information your body actually needs to survive. These are nutrients. The second kind contains information that intoxicates your system. This is toxic garbage. And no there is no middle ground. You can try to pretend that some things are a mix of both but the truth is this: it’s either feeding you or it’s draining you.

You can argue all you want about carbs fats protein whatever but the hard truth is simple. Some foods are just fuel. Some foods are fuel and medicine. An apple is not the same as a donut. A handful of greens is not the same as a protein bar loaded with artificial flavors and synthetic garbage. Real food gives you something your body can use. Processed food tricks your system until it crashes and leaves you begging for more.

Take a bagel. Maybe it gives you some energy but it is not efficient. It is stripped down starch. It will leave you hungry again in an hour.

(Let’s be honest. Who doesn’t love a fresh pumpernickel or multigrain bagel on a Sunday morning with the kids? That warm, dense chew of a real New York bagel is hard to resist. But here’s the truth: bagels made with refined white flour, and often refined sugar, may satisfy your cravings in the moment, but they won’t leave you feeling good in the long run. Even multigrain varieties can be misleading. Unless they’re made with whole, unrefined ingredients, they still spike your blood sugar and crash your energy shortly after. It’s not about guilt, it’s about awareness. Knowing what’s in your food helps you decide when it’s worth it, and when it’s just a habit.)

Throw in refined sugar and now your blood sugar spikes. That spike is followed by a crash. And that crash creates cravings. You do not feel good. You feel like you need another hit. So you reach for more trash. That’s the loop. That is the trap. That is the reality of modern eating.

The most important thing you can do for your health is to start cutting processed food out of your life. Cut the extreme stuff first. Soda. Candy. Cookies. Cakes. That fake health bar your trainer told you to eat. Gone. Then move on to the stuff pretending to be good for you. Anything with refined oil sugar flour preservatives dyes fake protein fake fiber. Get rid of it.

And yes even produce. Even fruit and vegetables from the non-organic section of the store come laced with pesticides and synthetic chemicals. Do not trust the food companies. Do not trust the government regulators who say it’s fine in small amounts. That is nonsense. If you had the option to avoid poison why the hell wouldn’t you take it?

It’s insane that we even have to choose between organic and not. That’s like choosing between clean water and water with a little sewage. That’s like selling cars with and without brakes and calling it consumer freedom. Wake up. The whole system is broken and they’re hoping you’re too tired or too distracted to do anything about it.

Nutrition is not a trend. It is not a diet plan. It is a lifelong science. It’s connected to your biology your childhood your trauma your stress your sleep your gut and your emotional state. You do not learn how to eat right from a fitness influencer yelling about macros or from a six week certification. You learn it by paying attention. You learn it by getting real. You learn it by eating real food and actually noticing what happens in your body after the taste is gone.

Stop searching for the truth in your gym’s supplement aisle. You will not find it there. You will find it when you slow down. When you listen to your body. When you stop looking for a shortcut and actually decide to care.
