If a person practices ancient teachings regarding movement, breath, yoga, meditation, walking, prayer, and morality, his or her consciousness will open up to universal light sooner or later.

All peoples’ experiences will be a bit different when this type of enlightenment happens to them. But generally speaking all such experiences will encompass happiness.

People who are enlightened will adapt quickly to dramatic and uncomfortable changes in their lives. They will not allow themselves to be overly distracted by circumstances: They know that if they do they will live short and miserable lives.

You can move towards enlightenment beginning today. Every single day, count your blessings when you wake up. Breathe one time for each major blessing that you have in your life. Then turn your focus away from your distractions. Breathe into the prayer that every living creature will receive blessings and be delivered from suffering in some way. Then, after you leave your house, do something to alleviate the suffering of others.

If you're a new mom, you don't even need to leave your home to do so. Your primary task in life is to alleviate the suffering of your child. One of the most important relationships in all of life is that which is between a mother and her child (or the primary caregiver of the child).

This bears repeating again and again: The relationship between mother and child (or primary caregiver and child) is vitally important. The troubles of the world begin to go away when children who are loved, taught good character, and taught how to use their minds properly go out into the world and make it a better place.
